Conditioning hybridoma culture

Author:

Culturing hybridoma is sometimes challenging. The growth rate and antibody production vary in individual clones. We generally choose hybridoma who has fast growth and high antibody production, however, for a long period of the cell culture, hybridoma suddenly stops growing and producing antibodies. In this situation, supplements will help for maintaining hybridoma. The Bricone containing IL-6 can be used for recovering hybridoma as well as cloning and post-cell fusion(1, 2).
