Collagen induced arthritis in B6 mice

Author:

Since C57BL/6 mice are a low susceptible strain to collagen induced arthritis (CIA), the arthritis model requires high concentration of M.tuberculosis in Complete Freund’s Adjuvant (CFA) for immunization with a booster injection to induce CIA (1). The chick type II collagen and 5 mg/ml CFA must be used to make emulsion for the initial and booster immunization. The report apparently showed that the high concentration of M.tuberculosis must be used to induce CIA (2).
